According to the Associated Press, a federal crackdown on marijuana cultivation in seven western states, including Arizona, has uprooted more than 1 million plants. Approximately two-thirds of which were found growing on public land.
The U.S. attorney’s office in Sacramento says the marijuana would be worth nearly $1.5 billion on the street. The agency released total figures for the July and August raids in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington on Wednesday.
Over three-quarters of the plants were found growing in California, approximately 840,000 plants. They found about 90,000 plants in each of the other 6 states.
