NASHVILLE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) – Michigan State Police from the Wayland Post say they found 48 marijuana plants in a house after they responded to a call of suspicious activity.

It happened around midnight on Christmas morning at a house just south of Nashville on M66 in Barry County.

Troopers said when they were at the house talking to the male owner they could immediately smell a strong odor of marijuana inside the home
 

The man admitted to police he was growing marijuana in his home.

After they got a warrant, police searched the home and discovered a growing operation in the basement. Inside were 48 plants and scales that were to be sold.

One person from the home was on probation on a previous drug conviction and was arrested for possession with intent to sell.
