Since December 2012 people who live in Washington state are allowed to possess marijuana for medical reasons, however dispensaries are not allowed.

But the state of Washington will allow people to grow their own medical marijuana or participate in a collective garden. It’s also interesting to note that only businesses with a liquor license will be able to sell medical marijuana.

Considering the way they do business in Washington state, I’m sure if liquor had any medicinal benefits, you’d need a prescription to buy a beer.

Since possessing, growing and distributing marijuana are still illegal under federal law, many people are skeptical whether they will risk losing their liquor licenses by supplementing federally illegal medical marijuana. Check with your local liquor board for details.
