(AP) — Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office officials say 14 people have been arrested after a drug bust that targeted black-market marijuana and marijuana delivery.
They say the 10-hour operation Thursday by the sheriff’s special investigations division established an undercover residence before multiple marijuana delivery groups were contacted.
The groups delivered the agreed-upon amount of cannabis to the undercover detectives in exchange for cash. After the vehicles left the residence, surveillance was established on the suspects until they were able to be contacted by uniformed deputies and arrested.
Sheriff’s officials say the sale and delivery of illegal marijuana is a growing problem. Medical marijuana and medical marijuana products can only be sold and delivered legally if offered by dispensaries or delivery services licensed with a dispensary to operate.
