Arizona Marijuana Dispensaries

A large medical marijuana cultivation facility east of Willcox was recently approved by the Cochise County Planning and Zoning Commission.

West Edge LLC plans to use the 187,944-square-foot Willcox-area greenhouse to operate a legal medical marijuana cultivation and edibles infusion (kitchen) operation.

The facility would distribute medical marijuana and edibles to licensed dispensaries throughout Arizona.

Once West Edge receives the permit it must quickly show progress towards its completion of applicable standards within the first year, or the permit may be returned to the Planning Commission to request revocation. But the zoning administrator could grant an extension if development progress has been made.

Currently no appeals have been filed.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
