Recreational marijuana has been legal in Canada for about one year, and the government has (finally) released their marijuana sales data.
Sales figures are still being gathered for the more recent months, The Motley Fool reported, but based on the data thus far, it is forecasted that Canadians will spend almost $1 billion on marijuana during their first full year of legal marijuana sales.
Meanwhile, Colorado dispensaries sold over $1.5 billion in marijuana in both 2017 and 2018, according to the Colorado Department of Revenue. Colorado typically makes over $100 million per month in legal marijuana sales.

The sales totals indicate that about 105,000 kilos, or 231,485 pounds, of marijuana have been sold.
