Populum, a Tempe-based CBD oil company providing tinctures, topicals and pet CBD products online, is taking CBD mainstream. Owner, Gunhee Park, started Populum in 2016 after trying CBD and seeing improvements in his overall well-being.
“It’s easy to get skeptical, and I was the same way,” Park told AZ Central. But after trying CBD he noticed improvements in focus, sleep and anxiety.
“There’s a lot of misconceptions and stigma with hemp due to its ties with marijuana,” Park said. “We wanted to start a brand that’s modern and approachable so that it helps break the stigma associated with hemp and can be introduced to mainstream market.”
Populum’s tinctures sell for between $70 and $200 per bottle. The company also offers customers a risk-free 30-day trial.
Part of Populum’s revenue is donated to local charities like Empowerment Systems. Military veterans are also offered a 25% discount via the Veterans Assistance Program.
Park is happy when he reads that a customer has found success through his product line.
He said, “The most heartfelt testimonials are from customers that can’t sleep due to pain-related issues and hemp CBD oil helps them get a good night’s sleep. Some customers are able to wean off a lot of pharmaceuticals. That’s what drives us to keep going with any challenges we face. Knowing there are customers with who we’ve made significant difference in their lives.”
