Jane Fix | Director of Patient Service at Sol Flower Café and Dispensary

I started by managing a caregiver collective in 2012. In 2013 I was brought on by Monarch (now MedMen) as Head of Patient Services. In 2017 I was hired by Copperstate Farms as Director of Patient Services. In June 2019 we opened Sol Flower Café and Dispensary in Sun City. It has a classroom and café open to the public; the goal is to become a center for the community to gather.

We want to break the mold of what people think of when they think dispensary. I will be spearheading cannabis education for the public and also offering integrative health classes in the space. My favorite hobbies are reading, hiking, cooking and gardening.

What is your favorite cannabis product, strain or flavor?
I am a Sativa gal, Durban Poison and Green Crack being at the top of my list.

Tell us your favorite thing about being a part of the cannabis business community?
I focus on the patients. I love to see events where patients share a meal and interact. They share tips on how they do things and everyone learns.

What is your favorite cannabis event and why?
Cannabis Science Conferences and CannaMed in LA held at UCLA

What motivates you to work hard?
Seeing the progress, we have made in the industry. I believe the doctor of the future will be the patient in at least 60% of the illnesses.

What is your proudest accomplishment?
My proudest accomplishment is the number of patients that follow me no matter where I work. The trust they give me is an honor.

If you could go back in time, what year would you travel to?
1972 the Summer I spent in Spain at the University of Malaga.

Who is your hero? Why?
My hero is Debbie Goldsberry who started Berkeley Patient Group in 1999. I think she brought patient care into the spotlight.

What’s a goal you hope to complete by the end of this year?
To form a strong community of folks that advocate for their health. These people come to the classes and then branch out and do volunteering with the immediate community as part connecting and learning.
