Sarina Gomez | Founder of Medicated Mavens
Sarina has followed her passion to work in the health and fitness industry for over 15 years, and her practice has taken her all over the world, from Africa to Asia, Europe to the United States. She feels the most important quality in life is the relationship between the mind, body, and spirit and she has dedicated her life to growing both her physical and spiritual self.
Her insatiable appetite for knowledge and growth has led her quest to learn more about her body awareness, alignment, preventive medicine and mental strength. She is eager to pass that knowledge on to her students and encourage them to nurture their body, mind and spirit through the practice of yoga.
Her practice of combining natural medicines (including cannabis) with yoga and meditation has allowed her to experience freedom and release. Sarina’s goal via Medicated Mavens is to help others through their own journey to attain this element of peace so they can confidently and competently move their bodies through life.

What is your favorite marijuana strain?
I’ve always been a flower girl. Some of my favorites are Green Crack, Tangerine Dream (from the Kindred MIND series) and Jack Herer. To help me sleep I love King Louis or White Widow is one of my all time faves. If I do edibles, I love specifically Sublime’s Sweet & Savory Pretzels or Haze and Main mints or sweedies. Love the microdosing with them. I do use and love CBD. AC:DC flower or using the Select CBD vape pen. The disposable Huxton pens Rise, CoolMint and Wild Tea are awesome too.
What is your favorite thing about being in the marijuana industry>
The people – everyone has a story to tell. Being able to work personally with so many people through yoga, dance, and meditation further contributes to their cannabis story. I love that.
What is one thing that surprises people about you?
That I didn’t try cannabis for the first time until I was 30 years old!
Who are you role models?
My students are my role models because most of them have overcome many obstacles in life to be where they’re at today.
What skill would you like to master?
I’d like to learn sign language, I’ve also been interested in martial arts, particularly boxing. I know nothing about either of these but I’ve always been fascinated by them.
What is the first concert you attended?
The first concert I attended was the Grateful Dead opening for Peter Paul & Mary at Ravinia in Chicago.
Where do you want to visit most?
India. I’ve been before, but I’d love to go back to study again and visit places I missed on previous travels. I’d also love to visit Israel and witness what they’re doing on the research side of cannabis.
What is your idea of happiness?
Balance. As much as it’s fun to work and build a business, it’s just as gratifying being able to take breaks and spend time recharging.
What is your most treasured possession?
A necklace from my mother. It’s designed with three pendants she wore and received the day I was born – representing my heritage in Colombia and Poland as well as a horn my father made her.
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I’d like to rely on technology less. I fall into the trap like anyone else, looking to my phone for immediate “rewards” and it’s never worth it. That’s what I’d love to get better at.
