Sonia Martinez | Owner, Law Office of Sonia Martinez
For the past thirteen years, Sonia Martinez has been the principal and owner of her small law firm in Mesa, Arizona. She also works in Indian Country and is licensed to practice in over 8 local tribal courts. Her focus on marijuana cases comes in the form of criminal defense as well as protecting her clients in family and dependency courts.
She has been working with small businesses and tribal governments respecting issues with the Arizona’s Medical Marijuana Act since 2010, and is the Vice President of the Arizona Cannabis Lawyer’s Association.
Named as President of the organization “Parents for Responsible Use in 2016,” during the Prop 205 campaign, she also worked as a Board member for “MOMSFORCE,” a group dedicated to educating parents and patients about their rights. Working closely with NORML and the ACLU, she has assisted the community by hosting and acting as a speaker for dozens of legal and educational panels. She is currently working on legal issues affecting caregiver cultivation rights in general, and pregnant medical marijuana patient rights vis-à-vis the Department of Child Safety.
