Sun Valley Certification Clinics

Franchising opportunities are becoming available in the legalized marijuana industry.

At the Franchise Expo West, Sun Valley Certification Clinic, a multi-state medical marijuana doctor office, provided information to those interested in entering the medical marijuana industry, according to The Denver Post.

Sun Valley Certification Clinic has locations in Arizona and Nevada, and plans to expand to all states with legalized medical marijuana programs through franchising. Their first location was opened in Phoenix by Andrea and Dustin Klein. Three clinics are now available in Phoenix metro and another just opened in Las Vegas.

Tom Portesy of Franchise Expo West said, “Whether it’s frozen yogurt or senior care, the more opportunities that presents itself in any given industry the more franchising becomes involved. They seize a void and they come up with a great business model in an industry that’s growing. That’s where you find most of your success in franchised concepts. Cannabis may very well take that to a whole other realm…”

Sun Valley ensures that their facilities are professional and designed to fit into the medical industry. Andrea Klein said, “Besides it being green, our office looks very much like an upscale plastic surgery office. It’s about making patients feel comfortable and not that they’re in some type of seedy, back alley office.”

Dustin Klein mentioned, “I really see Sun Valley being everywhere, in every state and every country. When people think of medical marijuana, I want them to think Sun Valley.”

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
