FDA Reports to Congress That 55% of CBD Products Are Mislabeled

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently released a report to Congress identifying mislabeling by commercially sold CBD products.

According to the report, the FDA’s lab found that only 45% of the 147 CBD-specific products tested contained the amounts of CBD that were labeled on the product, NORML reported.

In March, the FDA informed Congressional members it “is actively evaluating what and how much data would be sufficient to support a conclusion that CBD can be safely allowed in dietary supplements under certain conditions.”

Some hemp-derived CBD products, including CBD products for pets, contained THC, the psychoactive substance found in marijuana.
