Israel

Israel’s Health Ministry has removed marijuana from its Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, which will help medical marijuana patients get easier access to marijuana.

The new law allows specialists to prescribe medical marijuana rather than the Health Ministry approving patients, Grizzle reported.

The Health Ministry’s Director General Moshe Bar Siman Tov said, “Israel is a leader in the use of cannabis for medical purposes, and this step is another stage in making it easier for patients and turning medical cannabis into a medical product like any other.”

Prescriptions can now be taken to approved pharmacies for patients to obtain their medical marijuana.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
