Lowell Farms gained approval from the city of West Hollywood to open a first-of-its-kind marijuana café. The café will offer both marijuana-infused food and an on-site consumption area.
In California, marijuana consumption licenses are valid for just one year, according to NBC Los Angeles. No alcohol will be served at the restaurant because California law does not permit marijuana and alcohol to be consumed in the same establishment.
To gain approval, Lowell Farms will have an air filtration system similar to those used in casinos.
Lowell Farms expects to be open within a few months.
