The Body Shop Hemp

The Future Laboratory, a trend forecaster, predicts that cannabis-derived ingredients will be the next big trend in beauty products around the world. They believe that over the next few years, many more beauty products will likely be found with ingredient lists that contain cannabis derivatives such as CBD and hemp.

Beauty brands are also exploring cannabis as a treatment option for acne, according to Telegraph UK. Hemp seed oil is already included in many beauty products. For instance, The Body Shop, a maker of natural body care products, currently offers products that include hemp seed oil.

Victoria Buchanan, a trend analyst at The Future Laboratory, said, “Growing support for marijuana legislation and an increased awareness of the potential benefits of cannabis are the driving forces behind this ingredient. It is also crossing over into fragrance. Florabotanica by Balenciaga is a floral scent developed on a rose note with a narcotic hemp twist, while Cannabis Santal by Fresh is described as a sensual, woodsy fragrance.”

The use of cannabis in beauty products will predominantly be in creams, oil treatments, and other types of topicals.
