As the number of COVID-19 cases continues to rise in the United States, Arizona-based Populum CBD wanted to be able to help support the ongoing efforts of their local healthcare communities. So, on March 24, they announced they would be giving away free Cold Therapy Hemp Rub to healthcare workers on the frontlines helping to treat and fight the virus.
“To all Phoenix healthcare employees, thank you for your devotion to the care of others and for all you’re doing to keep us safe during this pandemic,” said Gunhee Park, founder of Populum. “Even though we are a small business, we wanted to do something to give back to those who are putting their lives at risk for the care of others.”
As a small token of Populum’s appreciation, Populum is giving away Cold Therapy Hemp Rub at no cost. Released in 2017, the topical rub helps to soothe and relieve sore muscles and joints. To redeem a free cold rub, Populum asks healthcare workers to complete a simple online form to provide their shipping information. Populum will then ship the product directly to their door.
“We chose to donate the Cold Therapy Hemp Rub because we thought healthcare workers would find this product the most beneficial,” said Caitlin March, Director of Marketing at Populum. “The rub provides instant relief for sore muscles and will hopefully provide some comfort to those who are working long hours on their feet.”
Populum was founded in Tempe, AZ. Populum, which hit $2.5M last year, has expanded to a ten-person team with offices in Tempe, AZ and Omaha, NE, and is considered a leading brand in the CBD space after gaining recognition for its transparency, 100% U.S.-based sourcing and risk-free trial.
“We were bred from this state — from our team’s education and roots to the founding of this company, Arizona has played a huge role in our emergence into the hemp industry,” said Park. “I want us to take any opportunity we can to help support our local community.”
Populum’s involvement in the Phoenix community spans beyond the hemp industry as well, as they donate company money to local charities. Most recently, Populum donated to Teen Lifeline, an Arizona-based nonprofit that helps teens cope with suicidal thoughts and depression, and Cool Cats AZ, a Phoenix-based nonprofit focused on helping animals that are often overlooked.
“This brand goes beyond us — it’s about supporting our partners, communities and customers,” said Park. “Now more than ever, it’s important that we all do what we can to help support one another.”
