Food Bank

Curaleaf’s Arizona dispensaries have partnered with United Food Bank and Nourish PHX charities for their Feed the Block fundraiser this year. This charitable initiative runs from August 1st to August 31st.

Curaleaf’s Feed the Block program has invited medical cannabis patients and adult-use cannabis consumers to round up their dispensary purchases to the nearest dollar. Then, Curaleaf matches 25% of these donations to raise funds for state-selected charities, including food banks, workforce development centers, and nonprofit social enterprises. Since 2020, over $455,000 has been raised by Curaleaf to combat food insecurity.

Nearly one in ten Americans live in households where there is sometimes or often not enough food to eat. Donations to food banks often dwindle in the summer months, but they are especially needed ahead of the start of the school year which is why this initiative is especially impactful.

⚡️

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
