Sky Dispensary

In an effort to honor veterans and to shed awareness on the health and wellness of those who served in the military, Sky Dispensaries launched a limited-edition marijuana packaging that coincided with the Independence Day holiday. For every limited-edition can sold, Sky donated $2.00 to Team Veteran, a non-profit organization that creates funding for “charities that support veterans, first-responders and their families.”

The donations amounted to $2,000 and will benefit the Team Veteran organization in their efforts to provide resources and support for all veterans.

“We are deeply proud to have partnered with such an invaluable organization like Team Veteran,” Skylar Jessen, COO of Sky, told AZmarijuana.com. “Many veterans integrate cannabis into their wellness routine to successfully treat a variety of medical symptoms. It seemed fitting to team up with this worthy foundation on the Fourth of July to shed light on some critical health and financial support issues that veterans are faced with on a daily basis.”

While this was just an initial trial run for the possibilities of creating themed cans for special holidays and charities, the Sky team has decided this will become part of their formula for helping to building the community.

“The eco-system of cannabis is not just about helping patients at the dispensary level. We have a duty to assist in the bigger picture of their lives . . . everyone’s lives,” said Skyler.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
