AZ Women Marijuana

Arizonans Parisa Rad and Adelia Carrillo, co-founders of Blunt Brunch, recently launched a new event series and created an atmosphere where women in all stages of business, from CEOs to startups seeking funding, can connect and find community within the cannabis industry.

As the co-founders of Blunt Brunch, Rad and Carrillo started the innovative series when Carrillo moved to Arizona and reached out to Rad to expand her network. Both are innovators in the event space, and after a long event drought because of COVID, they were eager to meet in person with other cannabis associates again. Thus, Blunt Brunch was born.

Rad, AKA “Da Marijuana Momma” on Instagram, is a partner of 420 Skincare and was named one of the 2021 Top 10 in Women & Weed magazine. Carrillo is the co-founder and CMO of EventHi and was recently recognized as a Woman to Watch in the cannabis tech space. Together, their events have become so popular that they have a waiting list full of accomplished high society women that want to attend.

The influential duo is now considering expanding the series to include intimate gatherings for high level executives, and larger, less formal gatherings for those that are new to the industry. Either way, the Blunt Brunch’s signature is to inspire fun and meaningful relationships for the hardworking women of cannabis.

The dynamic series is drawing some of the most powerful women of cannabis, and the duo has their sights set on expansion beyond the Arizona market.

“Out of state brands have reached out to us, asking us to host a brunch in their area, and we are in the midst of planning our first out of state VIP event,” said Rad.

According to Carrillo, the sky’s the limit. “Having just moved to Arizona, Blunt Brunch has been such a wonderful way for me to expand my network. I have seen first-hand how meaningful these get-togethers can be. We are excited to expand the series.”

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
