Sunday Goods, an Arizona medical marijuana grower and product line, is taking steps to open a medical marijuana dispensary in downtown Scottsdale.
The company has received a dispensary license from the state, Phoenix New Times reported. However, the city is very particular on where dispensaries are located due to strict zoning restrictions.
The proposed location for the high-end dispensary is at 4255 N Winfield Scott Plaza in Scottsdale, a location currently occupied by a tattoo parlor.
“Other higher-end, peer cities to Scottsdale, have welcomed upscale dispensaries to their ‘main-and-main’ downtown locations,” Sunday Goods stated. “These stores are seen as a welcomed, boutique retail option to complement the other assets of their community.”
Sunday Goods has filed a re-zoning application, but it could take months to get approval. Should the dispensary obtain the necessary permits to open in Old Town Scottsdale, a preschool in close proximity would have to relocate.
For years, Sunday Goods has been providing Arizona dispensaries with medical marijuana grown at their 320,000 sq. ft. farm in Willcox, Arizona.
