Is Cannabis Legal in Arizona
Prop 207, a ballot initiative that could legalize recreational marijuana use and possession for adults 21 and older in Arizona will be on the state’s November 2020 ballots.
If Arizona voters pass Proposition 207, the new recreational cannabis market’s regulations would be implemented by April 5, 2021.
Arizona Weed Law
The new law would establish new recreational dispensaries that would sell weed as well as allow the state’s current medical marijuana dispensaries to sell medical and recreational weed. The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) would oversee both marijuana industries.
Adult-use pot sales would have a 16% excise tax, which is similar to cigarette and alcohol sales taxes. Adults would be able to grow a limited amount of pot at home. Adults could possess up to 1 ounce of weed with no more than 5 grams of it being concentrates (extracts).
