Trulieve Is Supporting Epilepsy Awareness Efforts in Arizona

Trulieve is supporting epilepsy awareness and fundraising efforts in Arizona throughout September as part of a partnership with the Epilepsy Foundation.

Until Sept. 30, customers at Trulieve’s 22 Arizona locations can support the Epilepsy Foundation by rounding up purchases to the nearest dollar or making a separate donation at checkout. The funds will support programs, advocacy, education and research aimed at improving the lives of people with epilepsy and their families.

Epilepsy and seizure disorders are qualifying conditions for Arizona’s medical marijuana program, allowing eligible patients to access medical cannabis under the guidance of their health care providers.

An estimated 3.4 million people in the United States live with epilepsy, a neurological disorder that can cause recurring seizures. Despite available treatments, some people continue to experience seizures and face challenges associated with the condition.

Among the programs benefiting from donations is Camp Candlelight, an overnight summer camp operated by the Epilepsy Foundation Arizona. The camp gives children and teenagers with epilepsy an opportunity to participate in traditional camp activities in a supportive environment while developing confidence, independence and friendships.

Trulieve recently hosted Bernice Martin Lee, CEO of the Epilepsy Foundation, and members of the organization’s executive leadership team at the company’s Scottsdale office. The visit focused on the partnership and potential ways to expand support for the epilepsy community.

Trulieve also plans to participate as a community sponsor in the sixth annual Epilep-TEA event on Nov. 8 in Scottsdale, Ariz. The event will benefit the Epilepsy Foundation Arizona and raise funds for programs serving more than 77,000 Arizonans living with epilepsy.
