Colorado has created a successful medical marijuana industry that is quickly revitalizing the state’s revenue. In Denver alone there are approximately 204 medical marijuana dispensaries that facilitate tens-of-thousands of patients. And with each dispensary comes real estate leases, employees, electricity, utility, insurance, HVAC, security, and many other ancillary services. The taxed medical marijuana industry, much like the alcohol industry, has helped Colorado’s revenue increase roughly $20 million.
