Canna Beer

The Canadian brewery, Province Brands, wants to be the first brewery in Canada to sell a marijuana-infused beer.

The beer is non-alcoholic but would still be “intoxicating,” according to a company spokesperson, MLive reports. Province Brand filed for a patent in July 2017 for the marijuana-infused beer and has plans to make several types of infused beer.

Province Brands is relying on the Canadian government to fully legalize marijuana-infused drinks and edibles by 2019.

While Province Brands is hoping to produce marijuana-infused beers, other businesses are planning to release alcohol-free marijuana-infused beverages such soda, tea, coffee and fruit-based beverages.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff.
