Construction Begins on World’s Most Advanced Marijuana Facility

Aurora Sky Marijuana

Aurora Sky will be the world’s most advanced marijuana production facility, and will call the Edmonton International Airport grounds its home. The facility will be 800,000-square-feet and on 30 acres leased by the Edmonton Regional Airports Authority.

One of the main benefits of choosing this location is the low energy costs, according to Newswire. Additionally, access to necessary utilities like gas, water, sewage and public transportation also make this an ideal location. International customs inspection facilities are right there to clear equipment and supplies coming in from outside the Canadian borders.

CEO of Aurora Sky, Terry Booth said, “We are very proud of Aurora Sky. This is not just because it’s the world’s most advanced cannabis facility envisioned, but it will become an important contributor to the local economy, both through investments and job creation.”

“Aurora’s new facility will benefit from high-quality services available on site at EIA, including bonded warehousing, ground transportation access and air cargo connections across the country. EIA is already a major economic driver, with a GDP impact of over $1.1 billion annually, and with this and other new investments, over 2,000 new jobs will be created in 2017 through Aerotropolis development at EIA,” said Myron Keehn, VP of commercial development at the airport.

As marijuana laws relax around the world, the location of Aurora Sky will make it easier to export legal products globally.
