During helicopter coverage of Spain’s La Vuelta bicycling race a rooftop marijuana grow with 40 plants was accidently spotted. Local authorities were notified of the largescale grow operation.

Local authorities haven’t arrested anyone yet, but only because they can’t figure out who the plants belong to according to Fox News. The rooftop is open access to everyone in the building and not assigned to a specific tenant.

In Spain, residents can grow marijuana for personal but can’t buy or sell it.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
