Cottonmouth

Vaping, smoking, or eating an edible can be an incredible experience, but the after-effect of cottonmouth, not so much. That’s why Courtney Gilbert created corKaya mints.

The mints were designed for those consuming cannabis, however they can also be used by anyone experiencing dry mouth due to medication side effects or medical conditions that cause dry mouth.

Cottonmouth occurs when THC or CBD meet your endocannabinoid systems.

The name of the company is derived from Courtney’s name blended with the word “kaya” – a slang term for marijuana that’s closely associated with Bob Marley.

“Cannabis has helped me and so many others struggling with mental health; it’s time we destigmatize both, and we are proud to do our part,” said Gilbert.

The mints contain no THC or CBD and a portion of the profits are dedicated to NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness).

The mints will be carried by larger distributors and some cannabis dispensaries soon and are available online immediately at corkaya.com.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
