The Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California — better known simply as Coachella — is one of the US’s premier music festivals, so it’s no surprise that a flurry of unsanctioned parties happen just outside of Coachella’s event grounds.
One of those parties, Billboard reports, is an unprecedented event: a “Marijuana Oasis” just outside of Coachella 2017 (April 14-16).
A couple companies are hosting an invite-only retreat space down the road from Coachella that is devoted solely to marijuana. The aptly-named Marijuana Oasis will feature geodesic domes, each one occupied by a California marijuana company — Nameless Genetics, FlavRX, Brass Knuckles — that will be supplying their marijuana products to attendees.
In regards to the Marijuana Oasis, one spokesperson said, “Imagine you go to a wine tasting — we provide it as a sampling. We don’t charge. It’s exclusive, VIP. If you’re an A-lister, you’re going to be there, it’s a one of a kind experience. Whether you want to try edibles or try concentrate for the first time or just smoke some great flower, we give it all away. It’s more or less there for brands to showcase how great their products are.”
Coachella 2017 has a huge line up for the 3-day event. A few of the artists playing are: Radiohead, Lady Gaga, Kendrick Lamar, Martin Garrix, Bastille, Royksopp, Lorde, New Order, Hans Zimmer and Dj Khaled, according to the music and event app More Bass.
