The UK’s First Medical Marijuana Doctor Office Opens

Manchester just become home to the United Kingdom’s first medical marijuana doctor clinic. The flagship clinic will expand to London and Birmingham this spring.

Only specialists are able to recommend patients for medical marijuana in the UK, Benzinga reports.

Special medical marijuana licenses were able to start being issued in November. Dr. David McDowell, who will lead the Manchester clinic, wrote the first prescription in the UK.

The focus of the Manchester clinic will be patients with prescription for opioids and chronic pain. The clinic will serve multiple purposes, including being an access point for secure treatment in the National Health System.
