A recent study analyzed US cities with the fastest development to determine the cities that have the largest population growth. The study found that Goodyear, Arizona is the fastest-growing city in America. Goodyear is located in the southwestern Phoenix Metro Area.
Over the last 5 years, the population of Goodyear has increased by 42.02%, the highest growth rate in the list. Buckeye, Arizona was tenth on the list, with 40.69% population growth over the last 5 years.
The study considered infrastructure and employment growth to determine the stability of the increasing population. Metrics like housing development, job growth rate, infrastructure investments, population growth, and unemployment rate were taken into account to determine the composite score for the city rankings.
St. George, Utah and Frisco, Texas came in second and third, respectively. Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tucson, and Flagstaff have also seen tremendous population growth over the last decade.
