Phoenix-based American Green, Inc. has received final approval from the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) to open a state-of-the-art medical marijuana grow facility in Phoenix. The business will begin operating the 12,000 sq. ft. facility immediately.

“The American Green grow facility project was quite an undertaking with many moving parts and major legislative obstacles that had to be satisfied prior to approval,” said Danny Harris, American Green’s General Contractor.

American Green is using the latest technologies, including custom fertigation, ceramic metal halide bulbs and hoods, and real-time data monitoring to precisely control water and electric usage.

The company is currently procuring rooted female clones for their first harvest. All products produced will be sold through the company’s licensed grow partner, Natural Herbal Remedies dispensary in Holbrook.

“We wanted to set the bar by utilizing best practices, standards, and the latest technologies,” said Cory Anderson, the company’s Chief Grow Officer. “I can report that we have met that goal. When one is working with a core team of professionals who are dedicated to success, the sky’s the limit. It makes coming to work a joy, not a burden.”

The cultivation facility is expected to generate first year gross revenues in the range of $2 million. The company intends to offer its genetics to other local Arizona cultivators later this year.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
