Arizona Cannabis Consumers Forced Indoors During Heat Warning

Arizona Cannabis Law
Most Arizonans will have to enjoy their cannabis indoors this week as the state is going to see dangerously high temperatures.

An Excessive Heat Warning has been issued in Phoenix for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Phoenix Metro temperatures will reach about 111 to 112 degrees mid-week. Those temps are close to record highs for this time of year.

Tucson will see temps of about 105 to 109 this week while in Flagstaff and Northern Arizona the temps will be in the 80s.

Lower elevation areas in Arizona will see temperatures around 110 for at least the next 10 days, according to The Weather Channel.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff.
