Andrew Jolley of The Source dispensary in Las Vegas, said several people used to visit his dispensary daily inquiring about obtaining a Nevada medical marijuana card.
So Jolley decided to seize the opportunity by finding a medical marijuana certification center that wanted to open next door to his Las Vegas dispensary, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Jolley found Sun Valley Certification Clinics (SVMMJCC), an Arizona-based company that fit the bill.
Dustin Klein, owner of SVMMJCC, said that The Source “can send patients to us who have questions regarding doctors and the process, and we can also refer them to the dispensary” because they are not financially associated.
Jolley stated, “We knew that they shared our same passion for educating patients and helping them learn more about the medical properties of cannabis. We knew we’d be able to collaborate in helping patients and prospective patients get access to the information they were looking for.”
Sun Valley offers medical marijuana certifications to adolescents for free because the process is challenging for them to obtain a card. Sun Valley has certified almost 150 adolescents (with a guardian’s and a doctor’s approval). Klein said. “We’re just trying to make it easy for the patients. It’s a very small aspect of the business, but it’s important to us.”
