Arizona Medical Marijuana Golf Event with Pro Athletes on Jan 20th

Marijuana Golf

On Saturday, January 20 over 45 former athletes and alternative health practitioners converge at Starfire Golf Club in Scottsdale for a day long event focused on wellness without the use of opioids and the many natural benefits of cannabis as an alternative to addictive and harmful medications. Participating athletes include former two-time Super Bowl champion Jim McMahon, former Arizona Cardinal running back Damien Anderson, NFL defensive end and Super Bowl champion Marvin Washington, eight-time Pro Bowl selection and Football Hall of Fame honoree Chris Doleman and, just announced, four-time NBA champion John Salley.

Iraq combat veteran and founder of Mission Zero, Jose Belen, will also be in attendance. Belen’s non-profit organization is dedicated to ending veteran suicide and bring awareness to the national veteran suicide epidemic. Belen and Marvin Washington are two of the five plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit against Attorney General Jeff Sessions over medical marijuana that also includes a 12-year old who uses cannabis oil to ward of lifethreatening seizures, and a 6-year-old who is being treated for Leigh syndrome.

The Wellness Day on the Green is presented by Medicated Mavens, Cannakula, and Dr. Uma Dhanabalan, MD, MPH, FAAFP and CEO/Founder Global Health & Hygiene Solutions, LLC., Over two acres of Starfire’s driving range will transform into a comprehensive wellness and education experience, complete with 20 vendors with yoga, meditation classes, reflexology, sound healing, Thai massage and cooking demonstrations.

In conjunction with the Wellness Day on the Green, the inaugural Pro Athletes Pro Cannabis charity golf tournament will include over 40 four-person teams with one athlete paired per team playing 27 holes on the Arnold Palmer designed course.

Entry into the golf tournament costs $250 per individual player or $800 per foursome. Proceeds from the tournament and wellness day benefit Athletes for Care, a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating a supportive community for athletes after a career in sports.

Tickets to the Wellness Day on the Green are $40 and include valet parking, all classes, demonstrations and lunch, along with free samples with valid medical marijuana card. Tickets may be purchased online now at http://proathletesprocannabis.com/tickets.
