Steve founded Harvest in 2011 and is responsible for regulatory compliance and leads the application development team. His legal expertise provides invaluable insight into municipal and state cannabis laws, is an industry thought leader and frequently speaks on a wide range of cannabis related topics.
He has 19 years of legal experience as a business and business litigation attorney at White Berberian, Stinson Morrison Hecker and Meagher & Geer. He received his JD from Washington & Lee University of Law and graduated from Arizona State University’s Honors College Summa Cum Laude.

What is something most people don’t know about you or your business?
Most people don’t know that we designed the business from the beginning to support providing the best customer service. Sometimes we have to make tough decisions that ultimately is the right thing to do.
What about you or your company gets the most praise from customers?
Harvest hears praise from customers about a variety of things, including store design, employee knowledge, customer knowledge, and product quality.
What is your favorite cannabis product, strain or flavor?
I have to plead the 5th.
Tell us your favorite thing about being a part of the cannabis business community?
I didn’t believe in cannabis as medicine until I started to get involved in the industry. The fact that we run a business that truly makes people’s live better is my favorite thing about being a part of the industry.
Who are your business idols and role models? Why?
My business idols and role models are men and women who have given me advice about decision-making that I have been able to put into action. There are many of them.
What do you most value in your friends?
I value loyalty and trust most in friends.
What is your favorite cannabis event and why?
The MJ Biz Conference is a good one. But my favorite events are when new states decide to provide medical cannabis as an option for its citizens. It validates the movement.
What is your greatest fear?
My greatest fear is failure. It drives me every day.
Which talent would you most like to have?
It’s hard to pick one, but who wouldn’t love being a world class athlete.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
To date, my greatest achievement is helping turn a wish/desire into a company that we are quite proud of. There were and are a lot of dedicated and talented people who have been contributors along the way.
