Arizona’s midterm elections are just weeks away (on November 6) and marijuana is still a hot topic throughout the state. The candidate ratings listed below are by NORML-AZ and shares their perspectives on where Arizona’s candidates stand on marijuana.

The most recent poll of Arizona voters suggests that 63% support recreational legalization, Tucson Weekly reports. Arizona is on-par with the rest of the nation in its support for legalization. Every demographic, except Republicans, was above 50% in support.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
