A new poll by Phoenix-based OH Predictive Insights reveals that support for recreational marijuana legalization in Arizona is at 50%, while 40% are against and 10% remain undecided.
The poll was conducted following the release of the Smart & Safe Arizona initiative in August, reports KTAR News. The poll surveyed 600 Arizona voters for their opinions on the cannabis topic.
“The results indicate that Arizonans are feeling more comfortable with Marijuana Legalization than before,” says Eileen Liao, senior data analyst at OH Predictive Insights. “However, it still faces resistance from the same demographic groups of Republicans, women, and older voters.”
In order for the initiative to make it to November 2020 ballots, 240,000 valid signatures need to be collected.
