Arizona Hemp Laws

Rose Law Group has become the first law firm in Arizona to establish a stand-alone hemp department.

RLG has been on the leading edge of the burgeoning hemp industry and has been instrumental in working closely with the Arizona Department of Agriculture as it promulgated hemp rules governing the industry in Arizona.

“Having started my career with the Rose Law Group pc and being immersed in the regulation and promulgation of the medical marijuana industry in Arizona for the past ten years, I’m excited to have to bring the department forward and expand our area of practice to include industrial hemp production,” said Attorney and Partner Adam Trenk.

RLG calls on its extensive background representing agricultural interests and farmers around the state, along with the medical cannabis industry, in the way it approaches issues related to hemp.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
