Two years ago, people celebrated when the voters approved the Arizona Medical Marijuana Act and it looked like AZ would have its first marijuana dispensaries in 2011. Then to the disappointment of many voters and patients, the State intentionally held up the process of licensing dispensaries. Now almost 2 years later, the dispensary certificates have been awarded and the number of open marijuana dispensaries in Arizona sadly remains at a ZERO.
