Although Dixie specializes and produces several different types of cannabis-infused products, they are best known for their unique and frankly, category defining Elixirs. Early comers to the Colorado infused edibles market, Dixie’s Elixirs has gone through a couple different formulations before they ended up with the lip-smacking flavors they have today.
Blending familiar flavors like Cherry Limeade and Half and Half (iced tea and lemonade) with the hit of high potency THC, these beverages not only give patients the medicine they need, they do it quickly. While liquids can be faster acting than many other ingestibles, I can often feel the effects of Dixie’s drinks shockingly fast – easily within 30 minutes.
With that said, let’s talk about the taste. Across the board, they are bright, refreshing and clean with very little hash flavor. The addition of pure cane sugar really ensures the soda doesn’t coat the tongue like some of the other beverages in the market. After trying the Fruit Punch, Berry Lemonade and Cherry Limeade, I had a hard time determining which I like best. What I can say with confidence is Dixie’s Root Beer poured over some vanilla ice cream was the best float I have ever had.
