Destinee Nicole Blanco is the director of operations for the Marijuana Industry Trade Association (MITA), named a top networking organization in Arizona by the Phoenix Business Journal and one of the top cannabis networking groups in the country. Blanco, who is technically savvy, is also the co-host and producer of the popular traveling podcast, MITA Unshackled which features interviews with the top cannabis newsmakers in the country and across the world. She started at MITA in 2019 as a social media representative and quickly progressed to a leadership role within the company. Wise beyond her years, Blanco is serious about business and is a role model for young adults that want to enter the cannabis industry. She is patient, poised, respectful of those that came before her in the industry, and offers an easy smile to all she meets along the way. She loves supporting local brands, and in her spare time is dedicated to tending her own cannabis and house plants where she can be found on IG as @dezhowitgrows.
1. Favorite strain
My favorite strain at the moment is Slurricane, the strain is a mix of Do-Si-Dos and Purple Punch – the overall flavor and smell are so fruity and gassy. It has really great terpenes, It’s the best for when you want to relax and vibe to some music.
2. Favorite munchie food
You can always go right with refreshing fruity smoothies and a bag of Hot Cheetos, not together, but if you find me high enough you might find me indulging in both.
3. Favorite place to smoke
The perfect vibe would be, with some homegrown flowers, roll it up in a joint, sprinkle a little bit of kief, switch the LED lights to red, and play some r&b or lofi vibes and then add a lil bit of jacuzzi time in that mix.
4. Favorite Cannabis Product
I’m such a sweets girl. So before bed is my favorite time to medicate, I’m that girl that is at the fridge at 12am opening and closing it hoping something new will pop up. Right now, I am obsessed with Hippie Chicks CBN chocolates. They really help me sleep better and better yet they are a locally women-owned cannabis brand.
5. How long have you been in the industry
I started in the industry about 4 years ago volunteering with MITA. I quickly progressed within the company realizing the mass of opportunities this industry has to offer. I’ve had the honor to experience great adventures and people in the last four years. I’ve grown passionate about the plant and learned to grow.
