Thailand

While at a roadshow event, Thailand’s Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha smelled a topical cannabis oil product and then applied it to his skin.

The Thai PM said cannabis-derived products needed to be used carefully and that the recent legalization of medical marijuana products was to help people with low incomes find affordable medicines, National Thailand reported.

At the same event, Sukhum Karnchanapimai, Thailand’s permanent secretary at the Public Health Ministry, promoted medical marijuana use. It was also mentioned that marijuana products should be used with a doctor’s supervision.

Thailand recently launched the website that provides medical marijuana information to the public.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
