Arizona Cannabis Legalization

According to a new poll by Phoenix-based OH Predictive Insights, 62% of Arizona voters favor recreational cannabis legalization while just 32% oppose it.

“Four years ago, marijuana legalization nearly came to fruition,” said OH Predictive Insights. “And less than four months before Election Day, Arizona is on the cusp of allowing the adults to use recreational pot.”

The latest poll found a significant increase for marijuana supporters since the previous poll in December 2019.

“Unlike 2016, no credible group has raised significant money to oppose the marijuana legalization and that could be the biggest difference in 2020,” said OH Predictive Insights.

Many Democrats and Independents support the legalization of marijuana for adult use while Republicans still tend to oppose it.

Cannabis Arizona Legalization

⚡️

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
