Now through July 31st, Arizona cannabis companies Health for Life and Timeless Vapes are partnering with Phoenix Rescue Mission for its “Code:Red” water drive to combat the state’s extreme heat by collecting cases of water for people in need of water.

Arizona has seen a 750% increase in heat-related deaths over the past 10 years, and the Phoenix Rescue Mission helps get water bottles to those who are most vulnerable to heat-related deaths in the Valley. When the temperature exceeds 100 degrees in the Valley, just 15 minutes of exposure can cause permanent damage. In 2023, Arizona saw 645 heat-related deaths, which is a 52% increase from 2022.

Starting in early June, weather stations started implementing Excessive Heat Warnings for lower elevation areas in Arizona. The excessive heat is expected to continue for most of summer.

Phoenix Rescue Mission is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and donations are tax deductible.

Health For Life has four dispensaries in the Valley and Timeless Vapes‘ cannabis vaporizers are sold at dispensaries throughout Arizona.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
