In March, Arizona governor Doug Ducey announced that Arizona medical marijuana dispensaries were essential business, thus allowing them to remain open during the state’s stay-at-home order.

Most dispensaries remained opened for a while, however, due to safety concerns many stopped in-store operations and switched to only offering online ordering for pick-ups and deliveries.

Arizona Organix is one of the first dispensaries to re-open in-store operations.

“As of Friday, May 15th, Arizona Organix’s sales floor will be open again for walk-in patients,” Arizona Organix shared with AZmarijuana.com.

The dispensary has implemented extra safety measures to protect its patients and employees.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
