Dutchie Launches New Infused Pre-rolls in Arizona

Preroll

Dutchie, Arizona’s most popular cannabis pre-roll brand, announced the launch of Dutchie Infused with strain-specific live resin, a new product created to elevate the pre-roll experience above the ordinary. Now available in packs of two .6g pre-rolls at many places where Dutchie products are sold, Dutchie Infused with live resin pre-rolls provide an exciting new option for both connoisseurs and casual consumers.

“Today, many customers are seeking a little something extra from their pre-roll, whether to celebrate a special occasion or just to kick the party up a notch,” said Randall Gleave, Chief Executive Officer of Dutchie. “Arizona cannabis consumers are growing more adventurous, as well as more educated, about cannabis products. Dutchie Infused pre-rolls offer exactly what these consumers are seeking.”

According to market research firm Headset, pre-rolls make up the third largest category of cannabis products behind flower and vapes. Most recently, infused pre-rolls have caught the attention of consumers, capturing 42% of all pre-roll sales in the United States. Dutchie Infused pre-rolls begin with a foundation of quality, whole flower and add an infusion of strain-specific live resin, a cannabis concentrate extracted from freshly harvested plant material that has been flash frozen to preserve the precise combination of cannabinoids, terpenes and other compounds that make up the cannabis plant. The result takes Arizona’s favorite pre-roll to incredible new taste and aromatic heights.

“As consumers have grown more sophisticated, many have learned that terpenes play an important role in the aroma, flavor and effects that a cannabis product produces,” Gleave said. “A lot of infused products add terpenes, and many are using artificial flavorings, but the benefit of infusing with live resin is that the natural terpenes of the original plant have been preserved so there is no need to add terpenes or anything artificial. This helps provide the ‘whole plant’ experience many consumers love.”

A recently published study confirmed that many terpenes synergize with THC and other cannabinoids to create a more nuanced experience than merely THC alone. First coined as a theory called the “Entourage Effect” in 1999 by cannabis researchers, this phenomenon is what can make some cannabis strains induce relaxation while other strains might help with energy or focus. For example, the terpene linalool – most commonly found in lavender and birchwood – is known for its potential calming and anxiolytic properties. When encountered in cannabis strains, linalool can offer a calming and relaxing experience, making it a sought-after component in many pre-rolls.

In order to help consumers identify a product’s terpene content, Dutchie has launched innovative new packaging featuring icons that identify the prevalent terpenes of every strain, as well as a comprehensive terpene guide on Dutchie multi-packs and online. The icons and guides help consumers and budtenders better identify which products might be the best choice based on their personal preferences.

“We get a lot of questions from customers about what works best for them in terms of helping with sleeplessness or energy or anxiety,” said Trey Shepherd, Dispensary Manager of Hana Dispensary in Phoenix. “More people have started asking about specific terpenes so the icons and guide will make it really easy to help them understand which products might be the best for them.”

The new terpene icons now appear on all Dutchie packaging, and the terpene guide can be found on all Dutchie multi-pack products. In addition, a comprehensive terpene guide is available online that provides detailed information about each terpene and how it interacts with THC.
