The Glendale City Council has approved a law (with a 5–1 vote) to allow Glendale dispensaries to deliver medical marijuana to patients, starting on June 28.

Glendale dispensaries can also delivery to patients in other cities where the delivery of medical marijuana is legal, Your Valley reported.

“I think as long as it’s legal, we need to regulate it,” said Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers. We need to try to control it the best we can. But I think by saying, ‘No’ isn’t the answer. I think by trying to do it properly and giving our businesses in Glendale a fair shake and not the opportunity for (businesses) outside of Glendale to have the advantage.”

Arizona medical marijuana patients can buy and possess up to 2.5 ounces of marijuana every two weeks.

Currently, there are 4 dispensaries located in Glendale.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
