Alison Miller | Director of Sales & Marketing at Hana Meds
Alison Miller entered the medical marijuana industry in Arizona back in 2013 and performed various roles at a Phoenix dispensary, such as administrative assistant, social media, patient care and inventory.
Miller then joined Hana Meds’ Kingman dispensary in 2016 working in patient care. Soon after, she became the Director of Wholesale and later transitioned into Director of Sales and Marketing.
Miller’s expertise in HIPAA compliance, patient care, budget and cash management, inventory production and control, and product brand development and management have demonstrated her business savvy for the industry.
She also mentors new entrants to the marijuana industry and is known as a leader who drives business with integrity, passion and fun. Others have described Miller as, “a ray of sunshine in an industry emerging from the shadows.”

What is your favorite cannabis event?
Any of the expos. MJ BizCon is always a go-to, and SWCC Expo was a blast.
What is your favorite cannabis product, strain or flavor?
San Dimas OG Dutchies. It’s the perfect strain day or night.
Tell us your favorite thing about being a part of the cannabis business community?
The fact that this is only the beginning. Every day we learn new things, and to be so involved is extraordinary.
What about you or your company gets the most praise from customers?
Our flavors. We offer an incredible variety of strains across all of our brands; it’s nice to have options.
Who are your business idols and role models? Why?
Jimmy Iovine, Arianna Huffington, and Henry Ford. Jimmy’s tenacity, Arianna’s fearlessness, and Henry’s ingenuity.
What was the greatest obstacle you overcame to succeed?
Stigma. Not everyone is open to the idea of cannabis, and shedding a positive light on the industry is a great way to deal.
What is in your playlist that would surprise people who know you?
Musical soundtracks are road trip essentials.
What was your last social media post?
Although they are usually cannabis in nature, my last social media post was overwhelming excitement for the FEI World Equestrian Games. It is being held close to my hometown in North Carolina this year, which is pretty major.
What superhero trait would you most like to have?
The ability to teleport would bring significant efficiency to my life.
