Phoenix Dispensary Sold to a Multi-State Cannabis Business

Vireo Health International, Inc., a leading science-focused, multi-state cannabis company, has announced the acquisition of four entities which together manage the vertically-integrated Phoenix dispensary, Arizona Natural Remedies.

The acquisition includes a cultivation and processing facility in Amado, Arizona, a wholesale business that distributes marijuana products to third-party dispensaries throughout the state, and the ANR dispensary in Phoenix.

“With today’s acquisition, Vireo expands its business into the Grand Canyon State’s rapidly growing medical cannabis market,” said CEO, Kyle Kingsley, M.D. “ANR is a recognized leader in all-natural, organic, and pesticide-free cultivation and has done a tremendous job of building consumer trust and loyalty at their Phoenix dispensary. This transaction, which was previously disclosed, was financed through a combination of cash and stock and represents Vireo’s first acquisition since it began trading on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the ticker symbol “VREO.”

The Company now has more than 300 employees across operations in seven states including ArizonaMarylandMinnesotaNew YorkOhioPennsylvania, and Rhode Island.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
