Phoenix Yoga

Sol Flower of Sun City, a mixed-use dispensary complex, is reopening its multipurpose community classroom and café after being on temporary hiatus since the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in March.

Sol Flower wellness classes are open to the public with rotating educational courses covering a full spectrum of healthcare topics. In compliance with CDC and Arizona health recommendations, facemasks are strongly recommended, and space is temporarily limited to 10 registrants. Most events are free, unless otherwise noted.

Sun City.

In June, all yoga classes will be led by certified instructor Jenna Gully. Class highlights include the “Feel Good” series on Mondays, Reflexology on Tuesdays, and Mindfulness and Sleep Meditation class options.

Attendees are encouraged to visit the Sol Flower Café and lounge, next to the classroom, which has also reopened with new menu items. An array of healthy breakfast and lunch items including avocado toast, fruit and wellness bowls, coffee drinks, and CBD-infused beverages, are available to-go before or after class.

Yoga “Feel Good”
Mondays, June 8, June 15, June 22, June 29, 5:30 p.m.
A Hatha style yoga class. A balance of gentle but strengthening flow followed by a delightful cooldown, this class is sure to leave you feeling good and more connected to yourself. This class is for all levels.

Reflexology
Tuesdays, June 9, June 16, June 23, June 30, 4:30 p.m.
Reflexology is a hands-on technique that works mostly with feet and hands, effecting change throughout the entire body. Learn more about Traditional Chinese Medicine, Zone Therapy, Meridians, Feet Mapping and more as the instructor focuses on different aspects of Reflexology each week.

Mindfulness
Tuesday, June 16, 5:30 p.m.
This class will stimulate ideas of how you can use cannabis more mindfully in your daily life. Explore gentle movement and breath techniques, discuss Chakras and how to use a deepened self-awareness to navigate the world of cannabis within one’s respective bodies and experiences.

Sleep Meditation
Tuesdays, June 9 and 23, 5:30 p.m.
Forty-five minutes of guided meditation is equivalent to one REM cycle or about 3 hours of average sleep. This practice of doing nothing can be done seated but is traditionally done reclined. The goal is to be as comfortable as possible. Breath techniques and visualizations will guide your body and mind into such a deep state of rest, natural recovery and regeneration begins to occur.

Arizona legalized marijuana for recreational use in November 2020. The law allows adults aged 21+ to purchase, possess and use cannabis. State-licensed cannabis dispensaries began selling recreational marijuana in early 2021. There are over 150 dispensaries in Arizona — a majority of them are in populous areas such as Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff. Recreational cannabis delivery services began operating in 2024.
